Our mission
Our mission is to improve maternal and infant health outcomes for Medicaid families by closing gaps in access, preparation, support, and follow-through during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Maternity care that reaches into everyday life
Born Again Perinatal is a community-based perinatal services organization that extends maternity care beyond the clinic and into families’ everyday lives. Our doulas provide nonclinical emotional, informational, and physical support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They’re trained for the whole picture: helping families prepare, connect to the resources they need, and follow through, so no family falls through the cracks between appointments.

Four things that are true of every family we serve
Doula care for the whole picture
Our doulas are trained not only for birth, but for everything families are carrying into it.
Alongside your care team
We work with doctors, midwives, clinics, and health plans. Medical care stays with them; we help families prepare, follow through, and stay connected in between.
Free birth prep classes
Every client gets virtual classes, so doula visits can focus on each family’s needs.
Partners across the community
We work with health plans, clinics, hospitals, WIC and public health programs, and community and faith organizations.
Inga Goodwin, Founder
Inga Goodwin has served perinatal families since 2007, when she began as a midwifery assistant apprentice. Through her practice, Bonded from Birth, she has provided childbirth preparation, birth doula support, and newborn care support. In 2021, she launched Birth Ready, an evidence-based Christian childbirth preparation curriculum, and has trained and mentored the childbirth educators and doulas who teach it.
In 2026, Inga founded Born Again Academy to prepare community perinatal doulas to serve Medicaid families, and Born Again Perinatal to bring that care directly to families. Born Again Academy is an approved doula training or certification organization in Washington, DC, and eight states, including Minnesota.

A managing partner in every location
What we hold to
- Every family is worth showing up for. We serve Medicaid families because they are the ones most often left to manage alone.
- Meet families where they are. Without judgment, in plain language, on their schedule.
- Stick with it. We don’t hand out phone numbers; we stay until the family is connected.
- Work as part of the team. Medical care stays with clinicians; we help families prepare and follow through.
- Train for real life. Every doula is certified through Born Again Academy, with training in health-related social needs.
- Serve the whole family. Partners and dads are welcome at every step.
